Bournville School fashion workshop has business students learning by doing

Bournville School fashion workshop: Enterprising students at Bournville All-Through School showed they had a passion for fashion in an inspiring entrepreneurship programme.

Business students spent six weeks discovering how to‘dream beyond their limits’ and design their own item of clothing, as part of Free 2 Dream (F2D)’s Young Entrepreneur Project.

Each design was professionally manufactured, showing students the process of going from concept to creation.

Students had the chance to work with F2D’s professional streetwear designers, whose clothing has been worn by global superstars, including Miley Cyrus, Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran and Diversity’s Ashley Banjo.

When the programme ended, students left with a tangible product to take home, improved business skills and a real sense of achievement.

At a celebration event marking the end of the Bournville School fashion workshop programme, students were presented with certificates recognising not only their hard work, but the confidence, creativity and practical skills they developed along the way.

F2D encouraged Bournville students to ‘dream beyond their limits’.

F2D’s workshops empower young people to think like entrepreneurs: learning how ideas become products while exploring key business skills such as marketing, product development and financial management.

The project also supports a wide range of curriculum areas, including English, art, design technology, business, reading, maths and PSHE, making it a rich and rewarding learning experience for all involved.
