Perryfields Academy GCSEs 2022 – success with fantastic results

Perryfields Academy GCSEs 2022: Students, staff and parents at Perryfields Academy are celebrating a brilliant set of GCSE results.

Students were full of the joys of summer as they collected their exam results this morning (August 25th 2022).

With the majority of subject areas achieving an increase in both Attainment and Progress 8 scores compared with 2019, the students were delighted when they saw their grades in front of them.

Especially within the core subjects, which saw Science results at an all-time high, with Biology, Chemistry and Physics all achieving over 90%.

The fantastic results are testament to all of the determination and commitment the students have put in to their studies, combined with the continued support from dedicated and hardworking staff, parents, carers and Broadleaf Partnership Trust.

Perryfields Academy GCSEs 2022 – students praised

It must not be forgotten that these results come out of two years of turbulence. Just as this year group had commenced their GCSE studies, the nation went into lockdown due to the pandemic. So many of them lost a lot of school time, even when schools reopened, due to a large percentage of the students having Covid themselves.

Amid the celebrations, several students stood out for achieving particular high grades , including Seth Basudev, Mya Mehta-Ali, Jaswinder Kaur and Peter Astle.

Upon collecting his results, Seth confirmed just how important today is for the students, commenting: “I am happy with my results, they are more than I was hoping for and will be really helpful leading to my next steps.”

Mrs Clare Harris, Head of School, said: “The children have done themselves and the school extremely proud. Despite all the challenges they have faced and school time they have lost, their resilience and positive attitudes have brought about results for them to be immensely proud of. The exams were very challenging.

“To achieve this well, shows the amount of commitment, effort and dedication the students put in to fully preparing themselves for the exam season. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our year 11 students and wish them the very best for a bright and successful future.”
