John Willmott GCSE 2021 – After a rollercoaster 18 months, Year 11 students from John Willmott School have today received their GCSE results.
A school spokesperson said: “They have triumphed in the face of adversity and are now reaping the rewards of the strangest and most challenging time in education.
“They should be congratulated on what they have achieved. They are now ready for the next stage of their journey.
“They have worked exceptionally hard to ensure that they were ready for whatever was to come. They have had virtual lessons, online learning, face to face lessons, undergone periods of self isolation and experienced several national lockdowns. They have responded with determination and resilience to achieve the very best that they could.”
Tim Claxton, Chair of Governors at JWS commented: “I would like to congratulate the staff and the whole school community that have consistently delivered throughout against staggering odds, and of course the students who have had to cope with relentless new ways of learning and disruption.
John Willmott GCSE 2021 – staff thanked
JWS staff worked hard to make the end of their year 11 as memorable and normal as possible. Despite being unable to have their prom they did manage to have their Year 11 leavers assembly and end of year BBQ in their year group bubble. They all ‘dressed to impress’ and the official prom photographer took individual, covid safe, photographs. All students were gifted a JWS 2021 leavers mug, designed and made on site by Paige Cunningham DT technician, as a memento of this challenging year.
Nayla Noreen, Head of Year 11 said: “We are immensely proud of Year 11, their hard work, the positivity they have shown and their commitment to their own futures. We look forward to welcoming the majority of them back into our sixth form in September to continue their success. Well done Year 11!”
