ATLP Partner Programme grows: More than 20 local business leaders attended the second networking event held by Arthur Terry Learning Partnership’s groundbreaking Partner Programme.
The event, which was held at historic Moor Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield on 19th September, brought together business leaders, parents and alumni from across ATLP’s 24 schools for an opportunity to network and socialise, with the aim of promoting professional growth, community engagement and the enhancement of education.
It formed just one part of the Partner Programme’s ambitious calendar, which aims to put on 8-9 events a year.
During the event, the ATLP’s Alex Zarifeh spoke about the Partnership’s revolutionary new Futures Readiness and Careers initiative, which aims to prepare students across its schools to navigate an AI-integrated future.
Alex gave a fascinating talk about the constantly accelerating development of AI and its impact on future careers prospects for students, and how the ATLP’s programme is exploring ways of giving them the skills they will need to prosper in an increasingly digital workplace.
Speaking afterwards, Alex said: “It was great to see so many interested businesses at the Partner Programme event at Moor Hall, and a perfect opportunity to outline how ATLP is leading the way in addressing the potential impact of AI on students. While technology inevitably disrupts society, it also brings great opportunities, and the Futures Readiness programme aims to identify how we can take advantage of those opportunities.
“A key part of that will be working with businesses to understand what they need, which is why the Partner Programme is so valuable.”
ATLP Partner Programme grows with AI breakfast planned
The next networking event run by the Partner Programme, a Networking Breakfast called ‘AI Acceleration and Futures Readiness’, will feature discussions on similar themes and will take place on Monday 11th November at Millennium Point, in Birmingham, from 8 – 9.30am.
The event will have capacity for 80 attendees, with ATLP staff hoping to expand the programme’s membership.
Brian Davies, organiser of the Moor Hall event, said: “The ATLP Partner Programme unites students, parents, businesses, organisations and alumni, with the aim of enhancing education, empowering our learners and providing profitable networking opportunities for everyone involved.
“We are very pleased with the interest we have seen so far and are looking for to grow the number of Partners involved.”
key facet of the Partner Programme is its focus on enriching ATLP’s students through fundraising initiatives, which will raise money for three priority projects which aren’t covered by government funding.
These are events and initiatives, the end of year Student Awards and the Year Six annual trip to France. Members can feel confident their funds are going towards ATLP’s excellent staff, recognising students’ achievements and expanding young people’s cultural horizons. Funding will be distributed across all 24 schools within the Partnership.
Membership costs £1,000 per year and is open to parents, alumni and local businesses within the ATLP catchment area of Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth, Coleshill and Coventry.
