She said: “So many people’s lives are affected by cancer, no doubt including many of our students and staff. We set up the coffee morning to raise funds for people in our immediate families and our extended community.”

Student helpers ran the event, serving up coffee and cakes throughout its two-hour run time. A delicious array of homemade sweet snacks were on offer, baked by Nether Stowe staff.

Mrs Britcliffe said: “It was wonderful to welcome the community into the school to raise money for such a good cause.

“The coffee morning allowed us to show family and friends of Nether Stowe, as well as the wider community, what fantastic students we have here. They really care about uplifting causes like Macmillan, and their dedication shone through in their leadership on the day.

“We hope to have more events like this in future – watch this space!”
