Two local leaders who visited Nether Stowe School have praised the commitment of the students and dedication of the staff.
The Lichfield school, which is part of the respected Arthur Terry Learning Partnership, recently welcome two key figures from Staffordshire County Council to discuss the school’s achievements and standing in the community.
Tim Moss, Assistant Director for Education Strategy and Improvement, and Janet Higgins, Cabinet Member for Education and SEND, visited the St Chad’s Road site to meet senior leaders and members of the wider Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP) team, with particular focus on our Lichfield learning family.
Also on the agenda was the work the ATLP does with the local authority as part of its strategic framework.
The duo were highly impressed by the students and staff they met – and were particularly keen to praise the emphasis placed on supporting the unique needs of all young people.
Among those to meet the councillors were ATLP CEO Richard Gill CBE, Director of Education Deirdre Duignan, Secondary Strategic Lead Marie George, Nether Stowe School Headteacher Kirsty Jones and Scotch Orchard Primary School Acting Headteacher James Chapman.

Councillor Higgins said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Nether Stowe School, where I received a warm welcome from both staff and students.
“The calm, purposeful atmosphere and students’ clear commitment to learning stood out immediately.
“Staff demonstrated a strong dedication to supporting every young person and there was particularly thoughtful provision for those needing additional support.
“This reflects the school’s strong commitment to inclusion and helping every student reach their full potential.
“Well done all.”
Nether Stowe Headteacher Mrs Jones added: “We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our guests and showcasing our vibrant learning community.
