Royal Sutton School GCSEs 2025: Celebrating strong results

Royal Sutton School GCSEs 2025: Year 11 students are celebrating a successful and much improved set of GCSE and BTEC results today.

The Royal Sutton School, part of the respected Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP), has ended its first year after its rebranding with a strong set of results.

Headteacher Nicola Gould said: “This summer marks a hugely significant milestone for The Royal Sutton School — our very first set of GCSE results under our new name and identity.

“Today, however, is about much more. It’s about the young people behind the results — their character, their resilience, and the journey they’ve taken with us.

“I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to all our Year 11 students for everything they have achieved today. It has been a real privilege to share this morning with them and their families.”

Miss Richards, Deputy Headteacher said: “GCSE and BTECs are always a challenge. They test not only knowledge and understanding, but also self-discipline, time management, and perseverance.

“Our students have not only embraced those challenges, they have risen to them. This group have built on the legacy of past cohorts and have set a powerful standard for future years.

“They’ve shown that hard work matters, and that when we aim high, we can achieve something truly special.”

Mrs Lockley, Assistant Headteacher said: “To the Class of 2025, we are proud of you, not just for the grades you’ve earned, but for the way you’ve grown and matured during your time here. You have navigated challenges and your results are a reflection of your determination and focus.

“For many of you, this is just the beginning. Whether you are heading into further education, apprenticeships or training, we wish you nothing but happiness and success. You deserve it.”

Mrs Gould added: “I would also like to thank our parents and carers for the trust, support and encouragement you have shown. The partnership between home and school is crucial to our students’ success, and your involvement has made a real difference.

“Finally, to our incredible staff: thank you. You have lived and breathed these results over the past months, and you have never lost sight of the potential in every student. This is a team effort and today, we celebrate together.

“The Royal Sutton School is on a journey of continued improvement and today’s results represent a powerful step forward. We are proud of where we are and even more excited about where we are going.”

Exam Results advice

Waiting for and receiving your exam results can be an anxious time.

Young Minds, the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health, offer advice for young people feeling anxious and nervous about your results.

Here are some top tips:

Congratulate yourself

Whether you get the results you expected or not, that’s OK. Try to celebrate what you have achieved, whether that’s academically or not – you’ve survived your exams and you deserve to be proud of that. Try to celebrate what you have achieved.

Consider your options

School isn’t the end of the world – you can do so much more, even if you don’t pass your exams. Education is everything, but education doesn’t stop at school; you can be educated on an apprenticeship and continue learning. You can do so much more – even if you don’t pass your exams.

Take it slow

Moving onto the next step is a very personal thing, so giving yourself time to breathe could give you a whole new perspective.

Try not to make decisions in the heat of the moment. Take as much time as you need to work out your next steps, and ask for help if you need it.

Take as much time as you need to work out your next steps.

Remember to de-stress

Despite the reassurance, sometimes the stress of the situation can get you down.

To overcome the stress, make sure to stay connected to your passions and use each stressful situation as a learning experience. For more advice, visit: https://www.youngminds.org.uk/young-person/blog/exam-results-stress-advice-for-young-people/
