Nether Stowe A-Levels 2021 – Proudly Celebrating Wonderful Results

Nether Stowe A-Levels 2021 – Nether Stowe is thoroughly proud to be celebrating another excellent set of A Level results.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. We are exceptionally proud that 49% of grades were at A* and A grades and 60% of grades at A* – B reflecting the hard work and dedication of students and staff.

Headteacher, Glyn Langston-Jones stated that: “There have been a lot of inaccurate and unhelpful news stories about grade inflation. However, it is vital to remember the unprecedented pressures placed on students.

“These grades and brilliant achievements represent fantastic stories of individual determination, hard work, perseverance, talent and success that deserve to be recognised and celebrated.’

Nether Stowe A-Levels 2021 – well deserved results

Head of Sixth Form, Hannah Riley added: “We are so proud of the hard work of our students and the brilliant, well-deserved, results they have achieved. These grades represent a huge amount of effort, commitment and determination in very challenging circumstances. We have a rapidly growing and vibrant Sixth Form at Nether Stowe and we know that it will inspire our Year 12 pupils, as well as pupils lower down the school, to see Year 13 students going to some of the best and most prestigious universities across the country.

Eleni Hinis who is excited to be going to study Paramedic Science at Keele University wanted to say, ‘thank you so much to all of my teachers who have supported me’ adding, ‘thank you for being part of my journey and I will never forget you’

Jordan Davis, who is also going to Keele university to study Physics wanted to say, ‘thank you to all of the teachers who have helped me through the years’. Jamie Humphreys, who is thrilled to be going to Swansea to study Aerospace Engineering, was keen to say, ‘thanks for all of the extra support and helping me to achieve my goals and aspirations for the future’

Lowri Simmons, who is going to study English and Journalism in Manchester added, ‘thank you for a great experience at Nether Stowe, I will miss it so much’ whilst Ellie Sanders, who intends to study Biological Sciences at Leeds University said, ‘I’m extremely pleased and thankful to all of my teachers for all of the help they’ve given me during my time at Nether Stowe.

Headteacher, Glyn Langston-Jones, added: “regardless the impact of Covid, and the enforced school closures that have affected students throughout Year 12 and Year 13, we always had exceptionally high hopes for this year’s cohort and were very confident that we were on track for some of the best results we have ever seen.

“After such turmoil, we are relieved and immensely proud that years of hard work have been rightly recognised in such a set of excellent results for our students. It really is a testament to the hard work and talent of the students and the amazing support provided by our staff. Nether Stowe really is a very special place to be.

“One of the main strengths of our Sixth Form is our size and the outstanding individual support we provide to each student, something that is even more important in the current context. We wish all of our students the very best of luck and continued success for the future.”
